The Church Publicly BURNT Giordano Bruno 420 Years ago
Giordano Bruno:
Monk, Dominican priest and philosopher
scholar, of Naples, Italy, from where he fled in 1576, the Catholic Inquisition
seeking him.
He preached a strong and accurate thesis: ‘The universe is infinite and there is in
this infinite universe an infinity of worlds that are inhabited by intelligent
civilizations.
He was imprisoned in Rome in 1592. After
having undergone eight (8) years of interrogations and tortures, he refused
repentance and was then declared ‘Heretic’. As such, in the year 1600 he was
BURNED ALIVE publicly in Rome, under the order of the ‘Holy Inquisition’ of the
Roman Catholic Church.
